Soldier!

How much longer will you stand on the edge of your promise while staring at the giants?

How much longer will you allow fear to speak louder than the voice of God?

Israel stood at the border of the Promised Land.

The land was theirs.

Not because they earned it.

Not because they deserved it.

Not because they were strong enough to take it.

God had already given it to them.

The battle was not for ownership.

The battle was whether they would believe what God had already said.

Twelve spies entered the land.

Twelve saw the same fruit.

Twelve saw the same giants.

Twelve saw the same promise.

Yet ten returned with fear.

Only two returned with faith.

Caleb and Joshua stood before the people and declared:

“We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” (Numbers 13:30)

The ten spies said:

“We can’t.”

God said:

“You can.”

The people chose fear.

And fear cost them forty years.

Church, hear me.

The enemy does not always need to destroy you.

Sometimes he only needs to convince you that you cannot possess what God has already given you.

How many believers are standing outside promises because they keep listening to fearful reports?

Fear says:

“The giant is too big.”

Faith says:

“My God is bigger.”

Fear says:

“The walls are too high.”

Faith says:

“The walls will fall.”

Fear says:

“You are not qualified.”

Faith says:

“God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called.”

Fear says:

“You will fail.”

Faith says:

“God goes before me.”

The battlefield has always been the mind.

The giants were real.

The walls were real.

The enemies were real.

But God’s promise was more real.

The Lord told Joshua:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Notice He did not suggest courage.

He commanded it.

Why?

Because courage is not the absence of fear.

It is obedience in the presence of fear.

You, child of Abraham, need to remember who you are.

The promise did not end with Abraham.

The promise flowed through Christ.

“And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29)

Heirs!

Not beggars.

Not spectators.

Not spiritual orphans.

Heirs.

The same God who called Abraham is your God.

The same God who provided for Abraham is your God.

The same God who fought for Abraham is your God.

The same God who made covenant with Abraham is your God.

The Lord told Abraham:

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.” (Genesis 12:3)

Do you hear the language of battle?

God Himself stands behind His covenant people.

Not because we are perfect.

But because He is faithful.

The enemy wants you intimidated.

God wants you advancing.

The enemy wants you hiding.

God wants you possessing.

The enemy wants you staring at giants.

God wants you staring at Him.

You are standing at a crossroads today.

One road leads back into the wilderness.

Back into fear.

Back into excuses.

Back into unbelief.

The other leads into the promise.

Into trust.

Into courage.

Into territory you have never walked before.

Choose carefully.

The wilderness feels safe.

The Promised Land requires faith.

But every miracle in Scripture happened when somebody believed God more than they believed their circumstances.

David ran toward Goliath.

Joshua marched around Jericho.

Peter stepped out of the boat.

Philip ran toward the chariot.

And Jesus walked toward the cross.

None of them allowed fear to have the final word.

So I say to you today:

Stop rehearsing the report of the ten spies.

Stop magnifying the giants.

Stop measuring your problems against your own strength.

Lift your eyes.

Look at the God who made the promise.

The land is not possessed by the fearful.

It is possessed by those who trust the One who promised it.

Soldier, the time for trembling is over.

The time for advancing has come.

Raise your eyes.

Strengthen your heart.

Pick up your faith.

And take the land.

For the battle belongs to the Lord!
