The honest reality about the world we live in… Good and evil exist side by side. Light and shadow share the same field. This is not failure. This is life in a fallen world.

Jesus never pretended otherwise. In the parable of the wheat and the weeds, He tells us plainly that even when good seed is sown, the enemy will come. Not loudly. Not dramatically. Quietly. While people sleep. While life carries on. While we are busy living.

And God sees it.

“An enemy has done this.”
(Mat 13:28)

God is not confused by the weeds. He is not shocked by the corruption. He is not alarmed by the mixture. He knows exactly where it comes from. He knows the fallen state of man allows it. He knows the tension of living in a world that is not yet fully restored.

And yet He says, let them grow together for now. That alone should settle our hearts.

We can try as hard as we want to live perfectly pure lives. We can aim for holiness, integrity, truth and righteousness and we should. But purity does not mean isolation. It does not mean the absence of opposition. It does not mean the enemy suddenly stops sowing. The weeds will be there.

They will look similar.
They will grow close.
They will compete for attention.

And often, they will try to distract us into spending our energy fighting them instead of becoming what we were planted to be. But God does not ask the wheat to remove the weeds. He asks the wheat to grow anyway.

Here is the hope that anchors us. The Word of God is not fragile.

“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.”
(1 Pet 1:23)

The good seed is incorruptible.
It carries purpose within itself.
It knows what it was planted for. No amount of surrounding weeds can cancel what God placed inside that seed.

The Word in you will fulfill its assignment. It will rise. It will mature. It will come up on top.

What can hinder it is not the presence of weeds, but distraction. Getting tangled in worldly things. Getting busy fighting what God never assigned us to uproot. Allowing corruption around us to dilute conviction within us.

“You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?”
(Gal 5:7)

This is where our part comes in. Jesus calls us to a constant laying down of our lives. Daily surrender. Daily choosing the Word over the noise. Daily choosing obedience over outrage. Daily choosing growth over comparison.

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

Every time we lay ourselves down, the weeds lose influence. Every time we choose truth, the wheat grows stronger. Every time we stay rooted, the enemy loses ground. God may even allow the tension. Not to harm us, but to form us.

“The testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
(Jam 1:3)

Maybe you are surrounded by weeds right now. In your workplace. In relationships.
In systems that feel broken.
In a world that feels loud and polluted and exhausting.

God sees it.
God knows it.
God is aware of it.

And still He says, grow.

Grow despite it.
Grow above it.
Grow into everything you were intended for. Do not let corruptible things corrupt the Word that is for you.

You are wheat.
You carry purpose.
You were planted intentionally.

And when harvest comes, the difference will be clear.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
(Gal 6:9)

So let’s spring up.
Let’s live out our calling.
Let’s fulfill our purpose.
