Beloved, let me start small , almost laughably small.
At the beginning of my holiday, I noticed something that has irritated me for years. The shower rack. Yes… that thing.
It was on the wrong side. Always has been. Every time I showered, it annoyed me. Quietly. Daily. Faithfully irritating me. And then one morning, something snapped ,, not in anger, but in clarity.
I stood there, looked at it, grabbed my little multitool and thought. “Why am I living with something that frustrates me when I can literally fix it?”
Five minutes later … done.
Moved. Sorted. Peace restored. And I laughed at myself. Because isn’t that us? We tolerate discomfort. We spiritualise delay. We complain, pray, sigh… but never move.
Action had to be taken. And that tiny moment preached louder than a thousand sermons.
Beloved, hear me. This is not a season for excuses.
This is not the time for passive faith or tired thinking. We were made to thrive. I don’t want to hear the old, worn-out lies anymore. Not the “this is just how I am” nonsense.
Not the “one day” gospel.
Not the defeated language we’ve rehearsed for years. Jesus never negotiated with paralysis. “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.” (John 5:8)
He didn’t say, “Process it for a few more years.” He didn’t say, “Wait until conditions improve.”
He commanded movement. And movement released power.
Hear this like a trumpet call across the land: If it’s debt , start cutting it today. One decision. One boundary. One honest look If it’s a toxic friendship, either work it through in truth or release it in peace. If your marriage is struggling, go get help. Counsel is not failure; it’s warfare. If your body feels tired and heavy, move it. Walk. Stretch. Breathe. Start.
If your life feels chaotic, order one small corner. Just one.
Start where your hand already reaches. “Do not despise the day of small beginnings.” (Zec) 4:10 Small obedience opens big doors.
Some of you are standing in a dry valley. Ezekiel saw it too:
“The hand of the Lord was upon me… and He set me in the middle of a valley full of bones.” (Eze 37:1)
Dead hopes.
Dry faith.
Silent prayers. But God didn’t start with a miracle.
He started with a sound… “Prophesy.”Before flesh. Before breath. Before movement. Sound came first. So make a sound. Pray even if your voice trembles.
Worship even if it feels mechanical. Move even if your legs feel heavy.
Sit up. Put your feet on the floor. Take the step.
That’s how resurrection begins. Hear this clearly, beloved:
God is not restarting your life from zero. He is gracious, yes.
But He is also intentional.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”Psalm 119:105
A lamp doesn’t light the whole journey. It lights the next step. That’s enough.
Live today well.
Fight today’s battle.
Obey today’s instruction.
Tomorrow will receive its own grace.
“Lift up your heads, O you gates… that the King of glory may come in.” (Psalm 24:7)
Lift your head, not in pride, but in alignment. You carry responsibility. You carry influence. You carry legacy.
Your family is watching.
Your church is watching.
Your children are learning how to fight by watching how you stand. You were never meant to crawl.
You were trained to advance.
Get up.
Pick up your mat.
And go.
Fix the thing that’s been irritating you. Make the call.
Book the appointment.
Have the conversation.
Move your body. Order your space. Speak truth. Choose courage.
Even if your hands shake.
Even if your voice cracks.
Even if your faith feels small.
God meets movement with power.
“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
Rise, beloved.
The army is assembling.
The trumpet has sounded.
Heaven is watching.
Love
V.L.
