Let’s not overcomplicate it.
Your life, your breath, your body, your very existence, was designed for one core purpose: to bring God pleasure. That’s it. That’s the divine blueprint. You were made to worship. To walk with God. To fellowship with Him. To rule under His authority. To live your days drenched in His presence and crowned with His purpose.
Scripture says it clearly:
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.”
(Rev 4:11)
We were not an afterthought. We were not created to wander aimlessly. From the very beginning, humanity was born out of divine delight, placed in a garden to walk with God in the cool of the day. (Gen 3:8)
You may be a parent, a leader, an employee, a friend, but your ultimate identity is as a *worshiper*.
That is your eternal purpose.
Let’s go back to the beginning. If you see yourself as a son or daughter of Adam and Eve, then hear this: you were born for communion. We walked with God in the garden. We had no shame, no division, just unfiltered intimacy with the Creator.
If you believe you’re from the line of Noah, remember what he did as soon as he stepped out of the ark after the flood reset the entire earth:
“Then Noah built an altar to the Lord…”
(Gen 8:20)
He didn’t check the damage or count survivors, he worshipped. Worship was his instinct.
What about Abraham? Our father of faith didn’t just build nations, he built altars everywhere he went:
“So Abram built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.”
(Gen 12:7)
He was a nomad of worship, where he walked, he worshipped.
David, the psalmist king, didn’t just fight battles and rule kingdoms. He danced, he wept, he built places for God’s presence. His obsession was the Ark of the Covenant, the tangible sign of God’s glory.
And Moses? Moses would pitch a tent outside the camp just to meet with God. And when he did, the glory cloud descended.
“As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the Lord spoke with Moses.” (Exo 33:9)
He came out with a face that shined. Because glory marks you.
Even Hagar, a woman outside the covenant, built an altar of remembrance.
“You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
(Gen 16:13)
Tell me that worship isn’t woven into our very design??
We lift our hands, we sing, we dance, but worship is not just a Sunday activity. It’s not confined to a melody.
Worship is:
Obedience (1 Sam 15:22)
Faith (Rom 12:1-2)
Reverence (Heb 12:28-29)
Sacrifice
Surrender
It’s that moment you bow your heart and say, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”
It’s staying when it’s easier to run. It’s trusting when you can’t see the road ahead. It’s choosing holiness when compromise whispers (Don’t we know the voice of this whisper).
Worship is recognizing who God is, and then adjusting your life to reflect that reality.
So enter in, my friend… Can I say this to you like a sister?
You were built for this. You were born to burn with love for your Maker. You were designed for divine closeness. Whether you raise children, lead meetings, or wash dishes, you are a worshiper. And when you enter into that sacred space with Him, when you step into the holy place, you’ll find a well that never runs dry.
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.” (Psalm 42:1)
So enter in. Enter into the purpose for which you were made.
Worship until your face glows. Walk until His voice becomes familiar again.
Dance if you must. Weep if you can. But never forget this:
You were built for glory.
And your deepest joy will always be found in giving Him His.
Love V
